The Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex in Leesburg hosted 20 women’s teams for the 2021 Florida Senior Games Softball Championships, Saturday, August 7. In the first Florida Senior Games competition of 2021, over 250 players were on the four fields with games beginning at 8:45 a.m. and continuing through the final first pitch at a 2:45 game.
Adding a special touch to the 2021 Florida Senior Games event was the addition of a 40+ team and a group of first time players, known as t-ball level players. 17 of the 20 teams qualified for the 2022 National Senior Games, to be held in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area, in May 2022.
The 20 teams represented areas of the state stretching from The Villages to Naples and represented age groups from 50+ to 75+
