2024 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, December, TBD, Florida's Sports Coast/Pasco County

The Senior Athlete Fitness Exam (SAFE) will take place at the Ansin Sports Complex on Saturday, December 14, inviting all registered athletes of the 2019 to stop in for their free assessment.

The Senior Athlete Fitness Exam (SAFE) measures the fitness level of athletes and provides a comprehensive overview of components critical to health promotion and injury prevention. This includes cardiovascular risk, strength, flexibility, and balance. SAFE, under the direction of the National Senior Games Foundation, is unique as it specifically caters to senior athletes and uses results from other athletes of the same age groups for comparison.

Dr. Becca Jordre, the physical therapist from the University of South Dakota who developed SAFE has been conducting the screenings at Florida Senior Games and National Senior Games since 2011.  “We are delighted to offer expanded opportunities for the Florida Senior Games athletes to participate in the SAFE assessment during the games,” Dr. Jordre explained.

Registered Florida Senior Game Athletes can drop into the Track and Field competition at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar and receive the SAFE assessment on a first come, first served basis.
