2024 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, December, TBD, Florida's Sports Coast/Pasco County

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The State of Florida is home to over 3,000 sporting events a year providing residents and visitors a wealth of opportunity to participate and spectate.

The success of these events weighs heavily on involvement from the host community.  Being a resident of a host community to a sporting event in Florida, serving as a volunteer gives the residents an inside look at the success of the event.

The 2019 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, is being held in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area, December 6-15, and is seeking volunteers to assist in a variety of ways, in the 23 sports being held over a 10-day period.

“With multiple sports taking place over 10 days at a variety of venues, volunteers are essential to ensure that this year’s Florida Senior Games run as smoothly and efficiently as possible,” said Marvin E. Green, Vice President of Amateur Sports.  “We look forward to partnering with the residents of the Greater Fort Lauderdale area and beyond to assist our competitors with having the time of their lives by creating new and lifelong memories.”

The 28th Annual Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, annually attracts between 2,000 and 2,500 athletes and events are being held in 10 different Broward County municipalities. Volunteers can choose host facilities in close proximity to their residence.

Potential volunteers can tailor their selection of sports, available times and duties to their own interests.

Duties of the volunteers in need include Time Keeping, Score Keeping, Water Distribution, Ushers/Directionals, Manual Labor, Security, Ticket Taking and Greeters.

Volunteers will receive a Florida Senior Games t-shirt and lunch.
