2025 Florida Senior Games, December Dates and Location To Be Determined

The first full day of competition at the 2019 Florida Senior Games presented by Humana features action in eight sports and events.

The gun sounds to start the 5K Road Race at 8:30 a.m. at Vista View Park and athletes, age 50 and over will be shooting arrows at targets, rolling bowling balls down the lane, diving in the pool, tossing bean bags and playing cards and dominoes.

When runners step to the starting line for the 5K Road Race, the temperatures will be in the mid 60s and will top out at 77 degrees by 3PM.  Athletes will enjoy clear blue skies throughout the day with no chance of rain in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area on Saturday.

For those athletes and spectators at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center for Day One of the Swimming events, please stop by the Humana Oasis.  The Oasis area is meant to enhance the athlete experience with lounge furniture, a cooling station, tailgate games and giveaways.

The Oasis will be also be set up at the DS SportsPlex for the Pickleball competition and at the Ansin Sports Complex for Track and Field events later in the week.

After spending the day competing and winning medals, athletes and their families will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy local community events celebrating the Christmas season.

City of Miramar Annual Holiday Lighting Extravaganza
The City of Miramar will kick off the Holiday Season with the Annual Holiday Lighting extravaganza at Miramar Town Center Plaza on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 6 – 10 p.m. The celebration will include a special Holiday Show, Movie, activities for children and adults as well as special guests from the North Pole. Light Up Plantation City Hall, Holiday Celebration

Davie Lighting of the Greens
Visit a display of thousands of lights and over 50 beautifully adorned holiday trees, menorahs, and kinaras decorated by members of Davie schools and civic organizations. An evening of holiday music and entertainment marks the official lighting of Davie Town Hall. Enjoy the Jingle Bell Horse Parade hosted by the South Florida Trail Riders before the ceremony. Visit with Santa and have your picture taken. Refreshments will be available for a small fee.

Sunset Yoga Classes
Every Saturday • 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Downtown ArtWalk, Coral Springs

Students need to bring a yoga mat and bottle water.

No registration is necessary.

Class is by donation.

Class is a basic Hatha Yoga suitable for all levels and ages.

Parking is available at the City Hall Garage for FREE.

Hollywood Beach Candy Cane Parade

One of the longest running holiday parades in the country dating back to the mid-1950s. Today it features dozens of lighted floats and vehicles with parade participants tossing out candy canes and starlight mints along the parade route along the Broadwalk. The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk at Scott Street.

6th Annual Deerfield Beach Ocean Way Holiday Celebration

Main Beach Parking Lot (149 SE 21st Ave). Festivities will begin at 5:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM. Come out for a family night of fun while walking the parade of lights display, taking your photo with Santa, kid’s activities, an ice skating rink and live entertainment throughout the event!

The Games continue for athletes age 50 and over through Sunday, December 15, with approximately 1,500 athletes expected to compete in 24 sports.
