2024 Florida Senior Games Record Breaking Performances
During the 14 days of the 2024 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, athletes age 50 and over broke a total of 69 age group records in seven sports that record times or scores.
Record setters ranged from athletes in the 50-54 age group to the 95-99 age group. After celebrating her 95th birthday, just over two weeks before competing, Ethel Lehmann, of Largo (pictured at right), and the 1997 FSG Female Athlete of the Year, established records in nine track and field events.
Besides Lehmann, seven other Athletes of the Year, from previous years competitions, established new age group records.
New Archery Record Holders
Among the 10 records broken on the Archery range were two new records by 90-94 age group shooters.

Time Trials cyclists set eight new records on a day where many talked about the wind affecting their performances, with six of the records being set by three riders.

Five different swimmers broke 14 swimming records at the Temple Terrace Aquatic Center. Three swimmers (Juan Cue, Patrice Hirr and Nathan Leech) combined to break 12 of the 14 records.

Jeanne Garrett, Pace and Jeanne Harlan, Pensacola, Women’s Doubles 75-79 age group, 1082 (broke previous record, set in 2000, by 82)
Tom Fargis, of The Villages(pictured at right), rolled the seventh 300 game in the history of the Florida Senior Games. He accomplished the feat in the third of three games in the Men’s Doubles event.
New 5K Road Race Record Holders
Two records were broken, both of which stood for 20 years or more.
